The only thing I regret about studying in Portnov Computer School is that I did not join them much earlier!

The only thing I regret about studying in Portnov Computer School is that I did not join them much earlier! I knew about that school for years but I always thought that QA is not for me. I did not have a lot of IT experience and, thus, I was sure that QA would be very difficult for me. Don’t get me wrong, QA is challenging and you have to study really hard. But the Portnov Computer School provides you with everything you need to get your first job.

Instructors of the school (yes, for me they were not teachers, but friendly instructors) did an amazing job providing us with clear explanations, nice communication and a lot of positive emotions. And the most important part for me is that instructors of the Portnov Computer School recommended me to a company which eventually became my employer. My first job is a little bit more difficult than I expected it to be, but I’m really happy to work there and I’m incredibly grateful to the Portnov Computer School for the opportunity they gave me. I’m especially grateful to Janna Spector and Sofia Pravdina.

I am sincerely glad that I have chosen Portnov Computer School among all schools! Two months after graduation I received an offer to one of the leading companies in Silicon Valley. Not even a year ago I could not dream of such a job. I did not have any skills in fields related to computer technology before I started class. In Ukraine I worked as an economist at a Scientific and Design Institute.

The main plus is the ideal training program in accordance with the labor market. First, we study basic and theoretical knowledge, then — difficulties, practical exercises and real projects. In the first few months, we’ve already learned manual testing. Then we studied mobile testing and used our knowledge on a real project. At the end we had an internship with a practicing QA manager. We worked with Jira, backend, API automation, Selenium WebDriver with Java language, GitHub. So grateful to all our instructors, who constantly supported, suggested and pointed out our mistakes.

After graduation began a very important period of job search and interviews. I really want to express my gratitude to Director of Operations Sofia Pravdina, her support and advice was very valuable to me.

I really liked studying at Portnov school. Program is intense, but you get all support from teachers. They do care about each student to succeed.

Do you want to know the secret? If you learn at least what you are given during classes, you will get a job. You will get a job if you are passionate, curious and proactive.

I came to school in the hardest time, when Covid hit and market went down. Despite pandemic, school never left me behind and I got internship with their help. I am very happy my career in QA officially stated.

The only thing I regret is that I didn’t come to school earlier.

Best opportunity EVER! «Intro to Python Programming» course with Marina Lietman can help you land your first automations job. Before I took the course, I didn’t know much about automation, nor was I ever exposed to Python. However, that was not an issue, as the program is designed for the beginners, and provides you with all the basic knowledge you need to start a career in automation. Upon completion of the course, I went through the interview process with Marina (and yes, anyone who would like a shot at a job WILL get an interview!) And as a result, got a job that love and enjoy. When you want to learn and excel you should do it from the BEST and the best is PORTNOV .Living a few blocks away from the school I would everyday take a walk down the street near Portnov not aware of what it was all about, when one day my son ran towards the school and me after him, thats when I happen to just casually ask a student what they were learning there and I was told a lot of interesting things. And finally when I decided to restart my career I knew where I had to go .. Portnov it was ! In 2019 I joined the evening classes nd within no time of completion of my course I had an internship offer in hand with one of the best company in the Bay Area. And ever since than theres no looking back , Im glad I took that leap of faith and decided to change my career . Something totally different than what I doing in my previous jobs. Portnov helped me change my career and most importantly made me realize what I was meant to be doing .

The teachers here are fantastic .I have to mention teacher Janna , she is one of the best teachers I have come across so far. Very patient and approachable. Her way of teaching is fantastic!
Also, each student gets personal attention and hands-on training with the right guidance . They are bang on with the latest technology and polish you well for interviews. You can expect a plethora of opportunities coming your way for you to grab on .Besides that , the door of the school is always open for all the students and ex-students.
